The ELC’s extra-curricular activity in March was “Kung Fu Master”, which was also part of FAH’s Language and Culture day. The activity was held in N8 – Dance Room on March 28, and it was hosted by Prof. Glenn James MCCARTNEY from FBA. The activity attracted some participants who are interested in Chinese Kung Fu.
First, Prof. Glenn James McCartney introduced some historical background of Kung Fu (Heng Yue Yen Long Kwon), and explained the reason why he was passionate about Chinese Kung Fu. Afterwards, he demonstrated and taught the students different basic moves of Heng Yue Yen Long Kwong. During the whole event, students did not only learn different Kung Fu skills, but also had the opportunity to interact with Prof. Glenn James McCartney by using English. The ELC hopes that UM students can cultivate a curiosity and passion in learning English and Chinese culture through engaging in such interesting extra-curricular activities.
Thank you all for your participation!
