FAH holds workshop on enhancing research impact

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) held “FAH Spring Staff Professional Development Workshop” on 16 May 2018. University of Macau (UM) Librarian Dr. Jianzhong WU, Functional Head of UM Library Technical Process Unit Ms. Priscilla PUN and Associate Dean of Faculty of Education (FED) Prof. Timothy TEO were invited as keynote speakers. In the workshop, Prof Hong Gang JIN, Dean of FAH, delivered a welcoming speech. Dr. Jian Zhong WU and Ms. Priscilla PUN gave a speech on “Journal evaluation: with special reference to A & H” and Prof. Timothy TEO spoke on “Measuring Research Impact: Some Thoughts”. The workshop was concluded by an end note and a discussion led by Prof. Antony KUNNAN, Associate Dean of FAH.

Both of the talks have generated heated discussion and are considered “intriguing, well-prepared, highly informative and thought-provoking” by the audience. The FAH hopes to include not only academic staff but also some PhD students as participant in future professional development workshops.
