I-INTRODUCTION

Crossings is a platform for sharing research and discussions that put in perspective an inescapable aspect of our contemporaneity: the intensity and diversification of interactions between subjects, texts, discourses, contexts and languages. This meeting in Macau is, therefore, marked by the idea of the movement, the fundamental feature of these interactions.

In its first edition, Crossings was held under the title “Macao in Crossings: Translation and Cultures in Contact” and took place at the University of Macau from January 28 to 30, 2013. Its purpose was to discuss academic-scientific interfaces in the fields of language, culture, immigration, religion, literature and translation. In its second edition, from July 23 to 27, 2015, at the University of São Paulo under the title “Crossings: Brazil, Portugal and Greater China”, the themes of language, language, culture, immigration, religion, literature and translation were discussed comprising the symbolic spaces of Brazil, Portugal and Greater China.

This edition of Crossings, which will take place on December 15 and 16 at the University of Macau, will be organized by two institutions: the University of Macau and the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.
